DOT Testing
THC, an expanded Opiate panel, Cocaine, Amphetamine, Phencyclidine (PCP). There are 10 total substances tested for.
As of Jan 6, 2020 all positive drug and alcohol and refusal to tests will be reported to the FMCSA Clearinghouse. The other authorities still require you complete the SAP process. These do not show up on public records or background checks.
Yes. All DOT drivers must complete a pre-employment and be subject to random, post accident and reasonable suspicion tests.
Only in certain instances will you be observed for a DOT drug test. Those include any temperature out of range samples. Those will require a second sample be provided under direct observation. Also all follow up and return to duty tests will be observed. An observer’s gender must match the gender on the CDL.
