We stay current on DOT regulations affecting workplace drug and alcohol testing and DOT physicals. Employees performing certain safety-sensitive functions are subject to DOT testing requirements, including those who:

    • Work on pipelines

    • Drive commercial trucks

    • Operate ferries or marine vessels

    • Operate or maintain trains

    • Repair or maintain aircraft

    • Drive buses, shuttles, or livery vehicles

    • Serve as merchant mariners or cruise ship crew

    • Perform aircraft maintenance or pilot duties

    DID YOU KNOW?

Before an employee can perform a DOT-defined safety-sensitive function, a negative drug test result must be on file. Safety-sensitive roles are defined by the U.S. Department of Transportation and can include working on pipelines, driving commercial vehicles, operating marine vessels, operating trains, or repairing aircraft.
